The Democratic Party has filed a criminal complaint with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office against the Socialist Party's candidate for deputy in the Shkodra district, Fushë-Arrëz area, Ervin Doda .

According to the complaint, Doda concealed important information on the decriminalization form, a document that must accurately reflect every aspect of a candidate for public office's criminal past.

In the reported document, he is accused of failing to declare a 5-month prison sentence for two criminal offenses: intimidation and illegal possession of a weapon.

If these accusations are proven true, they not only violate the decriminalization law, but also call into question the moral and legal integrity of a person who aims to represent citizens in the Albanian Parliament.

But who is Ervin Doda, the candidate who seeks to be the voice of the residents of one of the poorest areas of the country, Fushë-Arrëz?

Local sources indicate that he is the son of Ndue Doda, a name that has become known for his controversial behavior towards the Catholic community in the area.

Ndue Doda has been in conflict with the Catholic Church for years, constantly sending letters to the Vatican requesting the church be removed from the Fushë-Arrëz district, as the noise of the bell disturbed him.

But his opposition to the church was not just personal. He also tried to prevent the distribution of free medicine to needy citizens, claiming that the drugs might be expired. However, many residents of the area believe that the real motive was to protect the interests of the family business: Ndue Doda owns the only pharmacy in Fushë-Arrëz, and the free distribution of medicine risks significantly reducing his income.

In this context, a natural question arises: Is Ervin Doda the right person to represent the interests of the citizens of this area? Can the citizens of Fushë-Arrëz trust a candidate who, according to the allegations, not only has hidden his criminal past, but also comes from a family that has been involved in dubious practices and in attempts to influence the life of the community for personal interests?

At a time when trust in politics is at rock bottom and citizens are demanding honest, transparent, and accountable representatives, such issues raise alarm about the seriousness with which political parties treat candidate selection.

In the culture of the mountains, word and honor are worth more than any wealth. The mountaineers are poor in means, but rich in character.

They cannot stand humiliation and have never accepted injustice.

In this spirit, the question is simple: if Erwin had even a little bit of a mountain seder, wouldn't it be more honest to withdraw himself?

To admit that he is not the right candidate, and not to desecrate the name of a community that has maintained its dignity even in the darkest times?

Many may say that these are just political accusations.

But in the end, the facts will come to light, and citizens will judge not only on the basis of the law, but on the basis of dignity, history, and character.

And it is precisely this judgment that often weighs more than any court decision.
