DP protest/ Three police officers were injured, 6 protesters and MP Klevis Balliu are being prosecuted

Tirana police have placed 6 militants under investigation for attacks with Molotov cocktails against officers during the DP protest. MP Klevis Balliu is also under investigation for illegal organization. 

"The Tirana Police, immediately after the end of the rally organized by the political entity Democratic Party on the evening of 08.05.2026, on the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, where during the rally several people threw fuel (Molotov cocktails), pyrotechnics, opposed and hit the Police officers with hard objects and as a result 3 police officers were injured, criminally prosecuted 7 citizens. Of these: 6 for the criminal offenses "Opposing a public order officer", "Hitting due to duty" and "Disturbance of public order and peace", and one citizen (MP) for the criminal offense "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations". During the actions, the police seized 1 Molotov cocktail, pyrotechnics and hard objects", the police announced.
