They promised a job contract in Germany, took the money and "disappeared"

A citizen from Tirana turned to the investigative show Fiks Fare after falling prey to a scam with the promise of employment in Germany.

She says she paid 2,000 euros to an office operating under the name "REMANY Office", which had guaranteed her that it would provide her with a job contract within a year or, if this did not happen, would refund the entire amount paid.

According to her, it all started after she saw an advertisement for the agency on television and then communicated with them through social networks. "They asked me for payment to start the procedures. They promised me with a guarantee: either a job within a year, or a refund. I paid 2 thousand euros, as they asked," the citizen says.

But, according to her, a year later, in September, the promised job was not found and no contract was prepared. Since then, communication with the office has become difficult. The girls who manage the Instagram page and contact number promised her every day that they would “return the money,” but this never happened.

"Sometimes they would tell me they would connect me with the boss, sometimes they would set me up with meeting times that never happened. I have conversations with them where they tell me 'wait today', 'wait tomorrow', but they just put me off for months," she explains to Fiksi.

The Fix journalists immediately contacted the office. A girl who introduced herself as Xhoana answered the phone, saying she was one of the agency's managers. She claimed that the lady's payment was known to them and promised that the money would be returned immediately.

According to her, they had also planned to call the citizen, but she allegedly did not answer. After Fiks Fare's insistence, Xhoana stated that the office was not interested in keeping the money and that they would immediately return the amount.

Just a few minutes after Fiksi's conversation, the citizen was notified to come and collect her money. She withdrew it and thanked the show for the intervention, which, according to her, solved a problem that had been plaguing her for a year.
