One day after the murder of the 28-year-old policeman in the village of Baltës in Fier, the perpetrator is still at large, while there is fear that he may be armed, posing a danger to other people.
Although hundreds of police forces, those of rapid intervention and RENEA, as well as drone monitoring, have been engaged in the capture of 23-year-old Azgan Mernica, they still have not been able to track him down.
Intensive checks are being carried out in tunnels, bunkers and stables in the area of Fier, Tepelena, Gjirokastra and Vlora, while police sources indicate that the perpetrator may try to cross the border to Greece.
Recently, there were reports that a person similar to Mernica was seen in the city of Gjirokastra.
Mernica shot dead the "Eagles" policeman Novruz Metalia after a fight over passing cars on a village road. After the serious crime, the 23-year-old left the car and fled on foot.
