Renowned Belgian magistrate Michel Claise , during an interview, said that the mafia is laundering money using hotels in Albania.

Former judge Claise has become one of the most well-known figures in his country regarding the fight against corruption and money laundering.

Some time ago, he said that the Albanian mafia in Belgium has become as powerful as the Moroccan mafia, which has dominated for many years.

Meanwhile, in another interview, he stated that the Albanian mafia is destroying Albania's beautiful coastline.

"A huge amount of money is being laundered from crime on the Adriatic coast. People will do anything to be allowed to build something. The beautiful coast is under pressure," he wrote.

Claise has published a book about the Albanian mafia, and says that he has investigated this mafia himself and knows its power.

21 News: Michel Claise, good morning. You just learned about the financial prosecutor's office bill introduced by the majority of Arizona. What is your first reaction?

Michel Claise: A positive reaction, undoubtedly. I see that the projects that I have supported for years to combat fraud, corruption and money laundering have been heard.

21 News: A long battle, as far as you are concerned…

Michel Claise : I have been hoping for this project to come to fruition for over 10 years. My party, DéFI, presented its bill, which was rejected like a used napkin, especially by the MR, and then at the last minute, the Engagés (a political group) will take over what was originally our job. It makes me smile, as I always say: we are the biological parents, and the Engagés are actually the adoptive parents. But all the better, because we have to move forward.

21 News: Are we very close to your proposal?
