Russian authorities have launched an urgent investigation after the publication of a shocking video in which a father is suspected of endangering the life of his minor son by lowering him with a rope from the window of a high-rise building.

The child, believed to be 5 or 6 years old, landed about 25 meters in the air from the seventh floor of a building in Voronezh , while he can be heard screaming in fear: " Hold me, hold me ."

Instead of helping him, his father's friends laughed and filmed the scene, while he asked them: " Film it, film it . "

The footage shows the child sitting in darkness and low temperatures, while a woman's voice is later heard demanding that he get up immediately.


The father, who has not yet been identified, is seen laughing as he pulls his son back inside and proudly declares: "That 's it ."

The Voronezh Regional Prosecutor's Office confirmed that it has launched an investigation following media reports, explaining that the man, under the influence of alcohol, exposed the child to an extreme act that seriously endangered his life.

Child protection authorities will also be involved in the investigation, while the parents may face legal consequences.

The incident has caused strong reactions on social media and comes just a short time after another case in Russia , where a mother was investigated after putting her 10-year-old son in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag " for fun . "
