Former President of the Republic Ilir Meta testified today before SPAK investigators regarding the January 21, 2011 protest, following his request.

According to his lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, Meta stated that before the January 21 demonstration, he was informed by foreign services in the country, in confidential channels, that the protest would be violent, that there would be clashes, and that the scenario of murders was not excluded.

The lawyer said that the services had also made this information available to the then prime minister and the president.
