The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, answered citizens' questions in an online conversation. One of them was from a follower who asked him why he doesn't resign from the party leadership and hand over the leadership to the youth.

Berisha said that the fate of the leaders and members of the DP is determined only through voting.

He stressed that he cannot resign because the elections held on May 11 were a farce. However, he invited his followers to use their vote, or participate in the competitions that the party will hold.

"The DP is a party that determines the fate of its leaders and members through voting. In conditions of functional pluralism, there is no doubt that losing the elections is the soundest criterion for the resignation of those who lead, but in conditions of electoral farce and narco-state, in conditions where elections are a farce, such an act would serve the dictator and those who suppress pluralism. Such an act cannot happen except with the vote of Albanian democrats. I invite you to use your vote according to your will or to participate in all the competitions of this party. In conditions of authoritarian dictatorships, leaving the mission and remaining in the opposition is a mission, leaving the mission is done only through voting," said Berisha.

During the conversation, the chief democrat also commented on the "coffee" of several DP candidates on the open lists, invited by Ervin Salianji and Ilir Alimehmeti. Berisha said that no one is excluded from the party.

"I have met or called all the primary candidates. Salianji himself has been to this office several times. Ilir Alimehmeti even more often. In this context, no one is excluded in this party," said Berisha.

He announced that the speeches will begin in the districts next week.
