The increased checks on all road axes continue, for the identification and punishment of violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in road events, as well as for the increase of road safety parameters in the capital.

During the past week, 14 citizens were arrested and prosecuted for driving while drunk or without a driving license.

71 driving licenses were suspended, for driving under the influence of alcohol, for speeding beyond the permitted rates and for other violations of the Traffic Code.

475 vehicle drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving.

300 drivers have been punished for not giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines.

444 drivers were punished for not wearing a seat belt.

115 administrative measures have been imposed for failure to wear protective helmets by motor vehicle drivers.
