After two court decisions in the Pole of Justice, this Monday, May 1st, the merger of 9 courts and 9 prosecutions comes into force.
This plan is being followed in implementation of the new judicial map, where efficient and timely justice is claimed for the citizens.
The Courts of First Instance that are closed are those of Tropoja, Mati, Kurbin, Puka, Kruja, Kavaja, Lushnja, Përmet and Pogradec. According to the High Council of Prosecutions, the respective prosecutors' offices of these judicial districts are merged together with them, which has led to the sending of judicial bodies and representatives of the prosecution to the new institutions of justice.
Specifically, the court and prosecutor's office of Tropoja is moved to Kukës, of Mati to Dibër, of Kurbini to Lezhë, of Puka to Shkodër, of Kruja to Tirana, Kavaja is attached to the court of Durrës.
The trials and investigations of Lushnja's cases are transferred to Fier, those of Përmet are transferred to Gjirokastër and the judicial and criminal and civil investigation files from Pogradec to Korçë.
The Police of Justice has decided that in every closed prosecutor's office and court, counters will be kept open to file lawsuits, which, however, are then delegated for trial and investigation in the above cities.
During the first phase applied in February, all six appeal courts in the country were closed, which convened in the capital in the appeal court of general jurisdiction
The third phase enters into force on July 1 of this year and it is foreseen that all administrative courts will be reduced to two, one in Tirana and one in Lushnja. Time will tell how effective justice will be.
The fact remains that all the courts are covered by the stock of files waiting to be judged.
