Journalist Lutfi Dervishi has reacted to the Transparency Board's recent decision to increase the price of oil, questioning its effectiveness.

Through a post on social media, Dervishi emphasizes that before the creation of the Board, the price of oil was lower, while after his intervention it has increased.

"Before the Board..., oil was 214 lek per liter.

With the board it is... 218 lek.

Question: Did the board rise to lower or raise the price?

The Transparency Board has set new ceiling prices today and starting today, oil will be traded at 218 lek/liter, up from 203 lek/liter, an increase of 15 lek.

Meanwhile, gasoline has increased by 6 lek. From 175 lek per liter, it will now be sold at 181 lek/liter.

The Transparency Board was established by the government in the context of a special situation in the hydrocarbon market, following the increase in prices as a result of the war in the Middle East.

His goal was to set a price ceiling to avoid market abuse. But is he fulfilling his goal?
