A Greek citizen, Pavlos Simeriontakis, 48 years old from Athens, was taken to Saranda Hospital on Friday evening without signs of life by several people, who then quickly left.
The people accompanying him immediately left the hospital, but were later located and questioned by the police.
Police sources indicate that his friends have stated that Simeriontakis was in Albania together with other people who deal in the trade of kitchenware.
In recent days, the group had been in Fier for trade, while yesterday they were in Konispol, from where they were to leave for Greece via Qafë Bota. Before they left, the 48-year-old did not feel well, thus losing his life.
According to them, the victim had been suffering from diabetes for years. An autopsy will determine the final cause of death.
