The residents of Bëxulla have come out again in protest today, like every Sunday for seven months. They are protesting about the Thumanë-Kashar road project, as they claim that their properties that are affected by the highway are not being properly compensated and that the state has left them in oblivion by not listening to their complaints.
There are about 200 residents of Fushë-Preza and Bërxulla, who are affected by the destruction of properties and agricultural lands. Some of these apartments are still in the process of legalization, while they have ownership certificates for agricultural lands.
Today, the candidate of the coalition "We win together" for the Municipality of Vora, Indrit Hoxha, appeared at the protest, but he was not accepted by the residents. The protesters say that they are aware that this interest from Berisha's political forces comes as a result of the local elections and that their protest is not represented by any political party.
"We don't want support from the candidates. We don't need a mayor at all. We don't want it at all. Don't even film it at all, you journalists. Leave us to our own devices." - said a resident.
Another resident said that Indri Hoxha only has the interest of the vote and not of the citizens of Bëxulla.
"They have never come here to come to us today. You are thieves. No one represents us. We don't want either the party or the mayor. Whoever comes for party work should leave where he came from. This is a peaceful protest. He has a problem with the vote, he doesn't care about us." - said the resident.
While one resident expressed that the truth should be clarified that the residents of Bëxulla are not represented by any political force.
"The candidate for the municipality of Vorë came out yesterday with news on the portals that he is organizing the protest. And they had warned of a protest, we have been holding the protest for 7 months and it is not political! The portals should be filled that the protest is organized by the candidates of Berisha, I accept this." he said.
"There is no development, no one will know. Neither those who have been nor those who will come. In one more month, the elections will come and then it will be forgotten. Some of the residents have been sold. The state to come to us. The Prime Minister should not take care where he is, we do not forgive him. There are no differences here," said one of the residents.
