The administrator of the concession company Integrated Energy, Herman Daniel Vermulen, in an interview for MCN, dismissed all the accusations of MP Monika Kryemadhi, calling them false and political, while also addressing the politicians who accuse that they can go visit them for to see closely the work being done. The administrator of the concession company Integrated Energy has further emphasized that he has never negotiated in Romania for the purchase of an incinerator. He emphasized that the foundations for the construction of the Tirana incinerator have already been laid.
In recent days, the MP of the Freedom Party, Monika Kryemadhi, has continued with the denunciations about the Tirana incinerator by publishing facts and drone footage. Her accusation is that the incinerator steals 100,000 euros a day because it does not perform the services according to the contract, but only differentiates the waste and buries it, what is your comment on this?
It's great that you visit us because you give us the opportunity to state that this accusation is false, I don't know where she starts with these claims. In any case, we are not affiliated with a political party, so it makes no sense. We are here to do only one job and that job is to manage the waste management and treatment area. On this occasion, I want to tell these politicians and not just come here once to visit us, schedule a meeting and I will tell them what we really do here, because what I understand so far seems like a mystery to them. Of course, the accusation is false, a politically manufactured accusation. We are not here for politics. We have only one job, to manage the area where waste is treated in Tirana and fulfill the obligations according to the contract.
Even you yourself in your reaction declare that the phrase incinerator of Tirana is intentional, since it is not called such, but then why do the citizens of the capital pay 29 euros per ton? What processes do you perform here? Can you tell us?
Then 29 euros per ton is calculated as the basis for the processes here, which are management, construction, and of course the return on investments is also included here. For the processes that our company is contracted here, we currently have the infrastructure, we have the material recovery facility, the water treatment plant, the landfill and without a doubt the Tirana incinerator that is coming and we will have it as well.
You state that you have never negotiated in Romania for the purchase of an incinerator, but can you tell us where your incinerator is today? If you are unable to tell us what the project is, where will it be built?
We have not made any kind of negotiations to get an incinerator in Romania, I don't know where these accusations come from, even the first time I hear about something like this. The incinerators can be assembled and constructed in Italy and other European countries and once completed can be brought here to the waste management area.
You, as a concessionaire company, clarify that you have invested 32 million euros in the Sharra landfill, while according to the payments which are also public in the State Treasury, you have received from the municipalities of Tirana, Durrës, Kavajë and Vorë over 5 billion lek, translated into 46 million euros. where does the other 14 million euros go, for which you make a profit plus the land fees paid by the builders, which are emptied by trucks here every day?
32 million euros is all this company has invested to date, remember we are talking about a 5-year period and as I answered in one of the questions above, we have built the infrastructure here, so 32 million euros to change everything see here , the waste management area in Tirana. This includes the materials recovery facility. I want to emphasize that this includes the incinerator, which will definitely be built, and we have already started laying its foundations, and this money has also been used to adapt and optimize all processes. The waste is coming, we are treating the waste, we are differentiating and classifying it, and I want to be very clear, the waste cannot be differentiated, then for a while it goes to the landfill. In short, when the incinerator is finished,
