From Ecuador to Rome , passing through the port of Rotterdam, hundreds of kilograms of cocaine arrived in the capital hidden in the containers of large merchant ships.
The multi-million dollar business was managed by an Albanian drug trafficker, known by a nickname now familiar to anti-mafia leaders: " Loli" .
He is the central figure of the investigation carried out by the 'Guardia di Finanza', which on Thursday led to eight security measures with prison, requested by the Anti-Mafia Directorate.
210 kg of cocaine sold and over 130 seized within the investigation, which also led to the discovery of a secret service, where the trunks of cars intended for drug transport were modified once they arrived in Europe.
The profits, according to the indictment, would have exceeded one million euros .
Loli, from the Netherlands, coordinated orders, arrivals and distribution through protected communication channels and encrypted messages: a direction from afar, but present in every link of the chain, from South America to the suburbs of Rome.
The name of the Albanian drug lord was also given by the justice collaborator, Fabrizio Capogna, who, thanks to Loli, had entered the circle of wholesalers who had weight: " He started giving us the drug at much lower prices, 26 thousand euros per kilogram, while before we paid 31 or 32 thousand ," he had said during the testimony given in July 2024, in the trial for the murder of Fabrizio Piscitelli, known as Diabolik.
Capogna's revelations over the years have shaken the criminal world in Rome, allowing investigators to solve previously unsolved murders.
In the courtroom, Capogna also revealed the conflict with people close to Michele Senese: Leandro Bennato and Peppe Molisso, from whom he bought before turning to the Albanian Loli.
"Bennato, with his strong-willed behavior, starts urging me to go back to them. He accuses me of eating like Albanians. I answer that it's just a matter of price: if they offer Loli's price, I buy from them. I'm a man of business, not of discussions."
Capogna had chosen not to betray Loli. Later he realized that he had betrayed himself, after ten kilos of cocaine were stolen from him: “ They told me that it was not with me, but with that scoundrel who sold it to me, that is, with Loli. From the conversations that followed I realized that Bennato and Molisso, with whom I had spent a year in prison together, were also involved, and he had sworn to me on his children that he had avoided harming me. Then I discovered that Loli had started working with them: they were sitting together at the table, while I was taking it from there . / LaRepublica
