The wreckage of a Russian Gerbera drone was discovered on a beach near Ventpils, in central Latvia, today. The Latvian Armed Forces announced that an inspection of the wreckage confirmed that it was a plane used by the Russian military and was not carrying explosives.

"From the information we currently have available, it appears that the drone arrived from the sea. Further details will be provided after the completion of the investigations that began today," said Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds, specifying that the defense ministries of other countries in the region have been informed of the incident to coordinate any joint response.

This is the third case in a few weeks, after more than 20 Russian drones were shot down inside Polish territory, and a Russian drone that flew in Romanian airspace for over 20 minutes before being shot down.
