After a few days, the dead body of the Dutch tourist, Jules Schurmmans, who disappeared two days ago while exploring the canyons of Osum, is found.

Schurmmans and his wife, Helma Schurmman, 64, had entered the Osum canyons two days ago to swim.

His wife was rescued from the current and is now in good health. She said that her husband had been swept away by the current of the river and that she had not been able to save him.

The fire services immediately went to the scene together with the plumbers of the "Renea" Special Department who worked non-stop to find the Dutchman.

The President of the Albanian Rafting Federation Zamo Spathara expresses his concern about the event and calls for all persons, local or foreign, who do sports and adventure activities such as rafting, kayaking and canyon exploration, to refer to licensed professional guides and trained by the Albanian Rafting Federation to be equipped with all the necessary information and equipment to enter the canyon in complete safety.
