"I'm in love"/ The Albanian terrorizes the family of the
Erson Sinai.

British authorities have arrested an Albanian man, after he stalked an 11-year-old girl after seeing her in a South London park. 22-year-old Erson Sinaj was put in handcuffs. 

Local media reports that the Albanian repeatedly went to the girl's house during a four-day period and said he was in love with her.

Despite the police and neighbors telling him to leave, he repeatedly knocked on the door and stood outside staring at her window at night. While her mother initially believed he was trying to burglarize the house, she later realized he had a disturbing obsession with her daughter.

After he was arrested, he told the police that he had seen a girl in the park that he liked, that he loved her, and that if he wanted to pursue her, no one could stop him from doing so. He later admitted causing serious alarm or distress between 3 and 6 August 2022.

He was imprisoned for eight months for these actions, as according to the court he caused suffering to the family, after leaving the victim's mother terrified. During earlier court appearances in Croydon, the court heard that Sinaj had recently arrived in the UK around three weeks ago on a small boat after leaving Albania and sleeping in a park. Sinaj had initially attended the address and knocked on the door and appeared "surprised" that the girl's parents had not allowed him to talk to their daughter.

Police spoke to Sinai on August 5 and warned him not to disturb the family again, but he returned the next day and was arrested. An earlier court appearance heard that Sinai had sought mental health support in hospital and that there had been concerns that he "may have some delusions".

The sentencing was postponed on many occasions due to the language barrier, with Sinai unable to understand English. He later admitted stalking and has now been jailed for eight months.
