Was the assassination of Kreshnik Mujeci for revenge? The Shkodra Court found

A serious criminal incident occurred today on the outskirts of the village of Balldren. As a result of an assassination attempt, a man and woman lost their lives, citizen Kreshnik Mujeci, 39 years old, and his wife, citizen G.Mujeci, 32 years old.

The first line of investigation into today's assassination attempt in Balldren, Lezha, is thought to be revenge, as Kreshnik Mujeci is accused of the murder of Gegë Mhillaj in 2016.

But the Court of First Instance in Shkodra has declared Jozef and Kreshnik Mujeci innocent of the murder of Genc Mhillaj, a decision given on November 27, 2018.

Subsequently, the Shkodra Court of Appeal on November 6, 2019, decided not to accept the prosecution's appeal against the First Instance decision. Meanwhile, the High Court returned it for trial on October 31, 2024.

So, the two Mujeci brothers and their cousin were never convicted for the murder of Mhillaj.

Lezha Police announced that the assassination occurred at around 2:50 PM at the exit of the village of Balldren, Lezha, on the Balldren-Torrovicë road, under still unclear circumstances.

While driving, a gun was fired at the Audi vehicle, driven by citizen Kreshnik Mujeci, 39 years old, who was traveling with his wife, citizen G. Mujeci, 32 years old, who lost their lives at the scene.
