Assassination attempt on Gilmando Dani in Rinas/A person from Fushë Kruja is being escorted

Special forces have escorted this evening a person suspected of connection to the November 11 assassination attempt in Rinas, where Gilmando Dani and AMP officer Muçi Shaljani were killed.

The person with the initials B.Xh. has been sent to the Tirana Police Directorate for questioning, without being given a detention order, while his testimony is expected to help shed light on the serious incident.

The attack took place in one of the safest spots near Rinas airport, right at the roundabout, at a time when there was no police patrol there. Gilmando Dani had just landed a few minutes earlier from a flight from Barcelona, ??where he had been staying for four days, and Spanish authorities are still verifying his movements and contacts during the trip.

According to the investigation, the perpetrators shot with professional accuracy and left only after they were sure that their target had been eliminated, while Shaljani, seriously injured, died a short time later in the hospital.

Officer Muçi Shaljani had been part of the AMP's Special Operations Force for a few weeks, while his admission to this structure, without the necessary security certificate, became the subject of an investigation, leading to the arrest of two police officers from Police Station No. 3, who had drafted the documents without including all the data.

However, the Tirana Court, in its November 15 session, deemed their arrests unfounded and did not impose any security measures, despite the Prosecution's request for "compulsion to appear" and "prohibition on leaving the country."

Just three days after the incident, the police discovered a large quantity of weapons in Fushë-Krujë and declared the owner of the apartment, Ylli Zalla, a suspect in the assassination attempt, wanted.

According to initial information, the Toyota vehicle that was used in the murder and then burned in the village of Halil is suspected to have left Ylli Zalla's apartment.

Authorities have not yet identified other people involved in the events, while investigations are continuing with high intensity to uncover the orderers and executors of the assassination.
