The Court of Tirana has ordered the security measure "Arrest with prison" against two arrested and three other persons declared wanted in connection with the attack on the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi a few days ago.

The prosecution requested the measure of arrest in prison for the 2 detainees, as well as for the 3 wanted persons, Drivald Alia, Elton Kasaj and Romario Tabaku, which were upheld by the court.

On the other hand, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has softened the charge against the suspects by requalifying the criminal offense from attempted murder of public officials to 'intentional serious injury committed in cooperation and opposition and hitting the judge, committed in cooperation.

For the criminal offense of 'Attempted murder of public officials', the criminal code provides for no less than 30 years or life imprisonment. While for the offense "Deliberate serious injury committed in collaboration" prison from 3 to 10 years "Resisting and hitting the judge" in collaboration. Fine or imprisonment up to 7 years.

Meanwhile, the health condition of lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi, who was raped 4 days ago because of his duty, continues to be the same. He is still intubated in the Trauma hospital, stable but no change.

The lawyer was raped on the morning of May 29 as soon as he left his son in the garden in the area of ​​the former block. 32-year-old Dorian Alia, who surrendered himself, has admitted that Dritan Nano is the one who ordered the attack. The young man has admitted that the violence came as a warning for the 45-year-old lawyer to withdraw from the lawsuit against Nano in order to receive what he was entitled to in the property acquired by court at the Lake Towers.

The 58-year-old Nano refused to liquidate the lawyer according to the contract they had signed, after Mêngjesi won the trial for the property of a family with 8 heirs, where today the towers of the Lake Dam are built. The agreement between the parties (the heirs and the lawyer) is to benefit a certain percentage of the property acquired by the court, so not a payment, but part of the property. On the other hand, Dritan Nano has denied being the initiator of the event, refusing to cooperate with the investigators, even though the latter are convinced that he is the main organizer.
