The story of Achilles and the murder for love!
Xhevdet Old Man

A few days ago he was put in handcuffs, but behind the name of Xhevdet Plaku lies a story that dates back to 2004.

In 21 years, also known as "Akili", he has had a long 'career' in international drug trafficking and there are also murder charges against him.

But who is Xhevdet Plaku?

Xhevdet Plaku, known by the nickname "Akili", was Rexhep Arap's target for execution.

The former chief of the Shijak Police Station, Dedan Gjoni, had also intervened in the murder of the Albanian who had 25 identities.

But it is still unknown why "Kep Arapi" wanted to eliminate Plaku, who is also considered the head of an international drug trafficking group, which he ran from Amsterdam.

Based on investigations by foreign agencies, drug packages were given luxury names after well-known fashion brands, based on the quality of the goods.

The purest cocaine was called 'Hermes', then came 'Lacoste', 'G4', 'Rolls Royce' and 'Playboy'.

One of the wiretaps conducted by investigators led to the discovery of the Albanian cartel that was importing tons of drugs from the Netherlands and Belgium to Brescia.

But this wasn't the first incident he was investigated for...

The old man was extradited from Italy to Albania because he was suspected of being the author of the murder of Saimir Sina on June 11, 2004, an event for which he was initially sentenced to 21 years and 6 months in prison.

The murder took place in neighborhood no. 15, in the Spitalla area, all because Sina, knowing that Plaku had a girlfriend, citizen Nertila K., and taking advantage of her personal acquaintance with this girl, had proposed to take her illegally to Italy, with the aim of reuniting her with her lover.

The girl accepted this proposal and, in July 2001, Sina, together with another person, took Nertila to Italy, changing the destination they had agreed upon.

They sent the girl to Rome, where they forced her to engage in prostitution on their behalf.

However, the young woman managed to return to Albania in December 2001 and filed a criminal complaint for the incident in question.

For trafficking the young woman, the Durrës Court sentenced Saimir Sina to 1 year and 6 months, while Plaku, when he found out what had happened to his girlfriend, decided to take revenge.

He had Sina under surveillance and just 3 days after he was released from prison, he shot him dead near his apartment in Durrës Hospital.

22-year-old Saimir Sina was shot with three bullets, killing him instantly, while all of the victim's family members, including his minor daughter, witnessed the murder.

Almost 10 years after the event, after numerous court proceedings, on February 22, 2013, Plaku was released due to lack of evidence.

He then left the country for the Netherlands, where he set up his drug trafficking "empire".

But, Plaku was put in handcuffs and extradited to Italy. There he escaped from the Barcaglione prison in January of this year. The 45-year-old had managed to return to Albania and yesterday evening, he was having dinner at a restaurant in Lalëzit Bay, when he was surprised by the "RENEA" forces and put in handcuffs again./VOICE
