The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) sentenced this Tuesday, February 24, to three years in prison the two IKMT inspectors K.Zh and GF, who were arrested in August 2025, accused of "passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", in collaboration.

The decision comes after a process conducted with a summary trial and as a result of this trial, each of the defendants had their sentences reduced by 1/3, ultimately being sentenced to 2 years in prison.

The court decided to suspend the execution of the sentence and place them on probation for a period of 2 years, on condition that they do not commit another criminal offense and maintain contact with the Probation Service.

They were also given the additional punishment of "removal of the right to exercise public functions" for 5 years.

The panel of judges Rudina Palloj, Flojera Davidhi and Bib Ndreca also ordered the lifting of the security measure of "prison arrest" and the immediate release of the defendants, unless they are being held pending another decision.

The case of the involvement of employees of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IMT) in corruption was discovered after a complaint was filed by the owner of a building where an unauthorized tent was found in Kombinat.
