Eduart Merkaj appointed head of the Internal Control Service of Prisons

Eduard Merkaj

Eduart Merkaj has been appointed head of the Internal Prison Control Service (IPCS), an institution that, with the entry into force of the new law, is known as the Agency for the Supervision of Institutions for the Execution of Criminal Decisions.

Merkaj previously held the position of director of the Police Supervision Agency (AMP).

Merkaj has held various leadership positions in the State Police.
