Two tons of cocaine, with a market value of over 400 million euros, were seized by the Guardia di Finanza.

The cocaine was found at sea, off the eastern coast of Sicily, by the Catania and the Messina air-sea group.

The drugs were packed, to avoid percolation and sinking in water, in about 70 floating packages accompanied by a luminous signaling device and all the packages were tied together with nets.

The cargo of narcotics was apparently left at sea by a cargo ship and then the traffickers would pick it up and distribute it across Europe.

The drug had a total weight of almost 2 tons, which if it were to be released on the market, would be worth 400 million euros.

This is the moment when Italian police found and seized 2 tons of cocaine off the coast of Sicily. Through surveillance by plane, the amount of drugs was found divided into packages and wrapped in nets to prevent them from being distributed at sea.

The packaging they had made prevented the penetration of water into the amount of cocaine and prevented the packages from sinking.
