Following the testimony of Socialist Party leader Taulant Balla at the Special Court of Kosovo, GJKKO, in the trial for the 'Partizani' file, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, has made a statement to the media. He is also a defendant in this file, alongside his father-in-law.
Malltezi accused Taulant Balla of giving false testimony before the jury.
Malltezi said that Balla's statements in court were "a fraud from beginning to end."
He added that during the hearing, Balla did not provide concrete evidence and avoided responding to several previous statements, while describing his testimony as unreliable.
"Balla lied in court. He lied when he said that Malltezi received 5% from the owners, he had no document, he said he got it from media sources. He lied when he said that Malltezi received 60% of the shares, he said he had heard about it. He is a person you feel sorry for.
"He was asked about his statement that he would not let us go without putting Saliu in prison, he remained silent. Balla lied about public facts. He said that the constructions were done with Berisha's permission, but he lied and today he said that he was not aware of it, so there are 11 lies in Taulant Balla's report," Malltezi said.
Malltezi also stated that in the upcoming hearings he will present objections to Balla's testimony, insisting that his claims are based on facts and not interpretations.
"We will be at the next session to dispute his statements. What I am saying are not allegations, but facts. We will repeat the criminal complaint against Taulant Balla and Edi Rama for fraud," he said.
