
Police have published images and details from the anti-drug operation launched on Tuesday in Tirana, where several drug distribution groups were targeted.
It is reported that 36 citizens, members of groups, who, individually or in groups, were selling narcotics of various types, have been identified, and the security measure "Arrest in prison" has been executed for 15 members of the group. Meanwhile, work continues to capture 16 others.
5 citizens were arrested during the investigation period.
As part of the operation, 60 kg and 300 grams of Cannabis Sativa, 2 kg and 50 grams of Cocaine, 4 weapons (1 pistol and 3 shotguns), 121,000 euros, 60 million lek, 5,000 pounds, mobile phones and other illegal items were seized.
"As a result of intensive investigative work carried out over 3 months, the Narcotics Investigation Section, under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, has finalized the operation codenamed "Final", to crack down on several groups that were selling narcotics.
During the operation, the security measure "Arrest in prison" was executed for 15 citizens who carried out this criminal activity, specifically: Arsen Shahollari, Ilir Baruti, Visar Alla, Xhemal Gjoka (Boja), Jurgent Ibrahimi, Ermond Osmani, Aljon Çezma, Abdulla Gega, Klevin Nika, Albi Çela, Saimir Duraj, Edison Mera, Eris Hoxha, Emra Idrizi and Glerjan Hoxhalli .
During the physical search of these citizens and the searches in their homes, during the investigation period and during the execution of security measures, the following were found and seized: 60 kg and 300 grams of the suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, 2 kg and 50 grams of the suspected narcotic substance Cocaine, 4 weapons (1 firearm, pistol and 3 shotguns), 121,000 euros, 60 million lek, 5,000 pounds, 14 mobile phones, electronic scales and 3 vehicles.
During the investigation period, citizens AM, EK, AK, EM and IC were identified and arrested.
"The other 16 citizens identified by the investigations as part of these groups have been declared wanted. Work continues to capture them and fully document this criminal activity," the police announced.
