A double tragedy has struck the community of Nikaj-Mërturi, where the Qokaj family has faced the loss of two members in just one day.

The first to pass away was 88-year-old Ndue Martin Qokaj. The news of his father's death was announced by his son, Besnik, who had published the obituary the day before. No one had thought that within 24 hours, the same people would have to announce his death as well, turning the pain of the Qokaj family into a double tragedy that has shocked the entire community.

Sources told Gazeta Shqip that the two deceased were from Curraj i Epërm in Tropoja, while they had been living in Lushnje for years.

The Qokaj family, consisting of 6 sons, has experienced the loss of their head of the family, while Besnik Qokaj was the third son of the family.

After performing the rites for the body of their 88-year-old father, Besnik lay down to rest, and it was there that his heart also rested.

What the doctors said about Besnik's forensic expertise was that his heart had been broken and that they had rarely encountered such cases.

While journalist Semiljana Azizi learns that the 88-year-old's body was planned to be buried in Curraj i Epërm and transported by helicopter, because the deceased himself had left his wishes, after the double tragedy it is not yet known where the funeral ceremony will be held and the funeral will be carried out to his final resting place.

Within a few hours, two of the pillars of the house were extinguished, leaving the Qokaj family's door covered in black.

On social media, administrators of local websites have also published the last moment of communication with Besnik Qokaj, who just a day earlier had asked for help in spreading the news of his father's passing.
