Accused of abusing his 15-year-old niece, Berat court leaves uncle in prison!

The Berat Court has remanded in prison 39-year-old Sabri Likaj, who is accused of having sexual relations with his minor niece, only 15 years old.

It is learned that the 39-year-old has denied the accusation and has stated that he has never touched his niece and that everything was fabricated by his sister-in-law, as they are in conflict over the apartment.

After hearing the prosecution and the defendant, Judge Ervis Koxhaj decided to classify his arrest as lawful and to assign the security measure "prison arrest" to 39-year-old Sabri Likaj, a resident of the village of Gjeroven in Berat.

Sabri Likaj was arrested 3 days ago, following a complaint filed at the Berat Police Department by his 15-year-old niece, a NL citizen, and her mother.

He is accused of the criminal offense of "Engaging in sexual or homosexual relations with minors", provided for by Article 200/2 of the Criminal Code.
