An Albanian in England, Agim Agaj, 53, was stopped by the police and detained for 15 hours after they found mountain tea in his van.
The English officers thought that the Albanian was transporting cannabis and handcuffed him. For the media The Sun Agimi says: There were two policemen. One opened the door of the van and saw that I had a plastic container and told the other policeman that I have cannabis. I told him it's not a drug, but mountain tea. They did not listen to me and arrested me.
The tea doesn't look like cannabis, and it doesn't smell like it. Even a child can tell the difference between tea and cannabis.
Dawn was held in a cell on Saturday night in Weymouth, Dorset, and questioned the next day before being released because there was no evidence.
He says officers searched his home and a friend's home. Agimi, who drinks traditional Albanian tea every day, said he did not know why he was stopped and added: I have never been arrested. It was scary.
Dorset Police said: A search of the vehicle was carried out and it was reported that a plastic container was found containing some plants which officers believed to be drugs. After further investigation it was confirmed that the substance found was not an illegal drug and the man was released without charge.
