Prime Minister Edi Rama said that there is no anti-Semitism in Albania and that Albania will remain a home for Jews. In his speech at the Albania-Israel summit taking place in Tirana, Rama thanked Israel for the help it provided to Albania in defending against Iranian cyberattacks and praised the increase in Israeli tourists in our country.
"Enjoy our food, enjoy our hospitality. Never forget that for Jews, Albania is home and wants to remain so," Rama said.
"And whatever Albanians may think about various topics, about politics, about your government, there is one thing that is absolutely certain, the ambassador can guarantee you, that there is no anti-Semitism in Albania and Jews are always welcome ," he added.
The Albania-Israel Summit brings together 40 innovative Israeli companies to ensure cybersecurity and strengthen the economy of Albania and the region through cutting-edge technology.
In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that he wants to strengthen relations with Israel, and stated that Albania today has a different level of cyber defense, thanks to cooperation with this country.
"You have brought your will and your knowledge to help us move forward on a path that we have opened, trusting in the digitalization of our infrastructure, and trusting in the blessing that is new technology, for countries like ours. Countries that through technology can make a leap forward, and that larger countries with old ways find it difficult to do. We believe in this relationship, not only because of history, which is a bond created in the darkest times for the Jewish people ," said the prime minister.
"The Iranian regime attacked us, attacked what we had been building continuously for years, to transform public services, from a completely corrupt, gloomy system, to a completely fast and transparent system, without fees. They aimed to destroy this in order to take us back, to the dark times of public services at the lowest level. We were very pleased that Israel behaved as a friend and offered us help. We survived this attack, we learned however that we need to invest and build a defense system. Today I can proudly say that we have a completely different level of cyber defense, thanks to cooperation with Israel and Israeli talents", said Rama.
