Aggressive drivers on the roads of the capital continue to be a concern for the Tirana Traffic Police, due to the danger they pose while driving. Tv Klan closely followed the work of the traffic police, which in recent weeks has increased controls, focusing mainly on this category of drivers.

For this reason, we stopped at one of the checkpoints organized near "Mother Teresa" Square.

"Due to the increased flow of vehicles, the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat has drafted a plan of measures with the aim of identifying aggressive drivers to avoid accidents with consequences.

"The most frequent violations found are the use of alcoholic beverages and narcotic substances. Speeding beyond the allowed limits, wrong overtaking and the use of mobile phones," says Lusjan Zeqaj, head of the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat.

But what is the most problematic age group of drivers, according to Traffic Police data?

"Referring to statistics and road violations in recent months, the most problematic drivers are the 25 to 30-year-old age group," adds Zeqaj.

The turning of road axes into race tracks is another worrying phenomenon for the blue uniforms. During the observation, two luxury vehicles were observed racing against each other on the Tirana-Elbasan highway.

"Despite the fact that there has been a recent decline in this phenomenon, intelligent tools are being applied on road segments where drivers use the road as a race track, including speed radar."

"In addition to field checks, the services moderate vehicle drivers on social networks," says Zeqaj.

According to Traffic Police statistics, drivers with aggressive behavior on the road are found to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics in 70% of cases.
