Ghanaian magician who "cursed" CR7 is also trying to stop Harry Kane:
Nana Kwaku Bonsam and Harry Kane

Nana Kwaku Bonsam is a Ghanaian magician who is well-known not only in his country but also in much of Africa. Also present on Facebook, he publishes videos of his “rituals”, mostly claimed to be black magic (“Bonsam” literally means “devil” in Twi, the language spoken mainly in Ghana).

The 52-year-old, who had previously "worked" on Cristiano Ronaldo during the 2014 World Cup, has now announced that he has begun to act on Harry Kane for the same purpose of that time: to take out the bomber and the symbolic player of the team that will face Ghana tonight in the 2026 World Cup. Then it was Portugal, this time it is England.

Both teams are in Group L and come into the match having both won their debuts: Ghana 1-0 against Panama and England 4-2 against Croatia, with a brace from an in-form Kane, who comes to the World Cup after an extraordinary season with Bayern Munich (61 goals in 51 matches). It is easy to see why the Ghanaian team's chances of getting results depend above all on their ability to stop the captain of the "Three Lions". The point is that it is one thing to do it on the field, even with a tough marking, and quite another to implement practices like those for which Bonsam is famous in Africa.

Ghanaian magician Nana Kwaku Bonsam's curse on Harry Kane

For him, everything is completely normal, a "job" like any other: "I'm working on Harry Kane - the magician told the 'Daily Star' - I've already shown what I'm capable of, so I know what I have to do to stop him. I'm very famous for my predictions. I don't want him to be seriously injured. It will just be something enough to stop him and prevent him from attacking my country. I'll do my job so I can help Ghana". So, Kane now knows that he has a curse on his back from one of the greatest "specialists" on the African continent, if you believe him...

Nana Kwaku Bonsam boasts a similar precedent to Ronaldo, who nevertheless – despite suffering – ended up playing for Portugal against Ghana in the final group match of the 2014 World Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final 2-1. A goal that was useless, however, considering that both national teams were eliminated (the Portuguese would have had to score three more goals).

Bonsam's previous "work" against CR7 in the 2014 World Cup

At the time, the magician publicly declared that he had "worked" spiritually to cause Ronaldo an injury, specifically an inflammation of the tendon in his left knee, with the precise intention of preventing him from playing in the match against Ghana. Bonsam declared that no doctor would be able to cure Cristiano, because the cause was not physical: "This injury will never be cured by any doctor, they will never be able to understand what is causing it, because it is of a spiritual nature. Today it is the knee, tomorrow the thigh, the day after tomorrow something else".

In practice, Ronaldo did indeed suffer from a tendon that limited his preparation and performances at the beginning of the tournament, but in the end he still took to the field against the "Black Stars", contributing to sending Ghana home.
