The Government's decision, Kushi: Scholarship as minimum wage and removal
Evis Kushi

The government has approved a decision, on the basis of which some changes have been made in the education policies in the country.

The Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, said that students who have an average above 8.5 and who choose studies in priority branches, will benefit from a scholarship of 40 thousand lek every month, but this of course has a clause that must be respected.

This financial aid applies to all high school graduates, who have been graded ten in their matriculation exam results.

"According to VKM, we have announced a priority list of studies and financial support of students. All those graduates who have an average above 8.5 and who choose one of these programs benefit from the minimum wage every month, and meanwhile their obligation is to stay and contribute to the country for 3 years after graduation. The same scholarship also benefits excellent students who have all 10 in the matura, as well as those who win international olympiads. We will divide the quotas according to the universities, depending on the number of students they have and the study programs. We have decided to remove the 8.5 average criterion for all those who benefit from scholarships following these study programs. Which means, even a high school graduate, who has a lower average, but always fulfilling those criteria, such as teaching with 7.5, but we removed the criterion of 8.5. In the agriculture program, in the direction of veterinary medicine, even with an average of 8 and 7.5 can be successful for graduation, we have removed the criterion that must keep the result throughout the years of studies", said Khushi.
