After being notified of the security measure of detention in prison by the Special Court, the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako was sent to the Durres detention center, where the former minister Lefter Koka and the former deputy Alqi Blako are also located, both of them accused of incinerators.

According to Klan News, Vangjush Dako is in the same detention cell as Alqin Bllakon.

Vangjush Dako yesterday asked the court for a milder security measure, such as house arrest or mandatory appearance. But the court did not accept any of his requests.

The former mayor of Durrës himself denied the accusations.

Even his lawyer said that leaving him in prison was an extreme measure for a case that happened years ago and that Dako has no criminal responsibility for decisions that were made collegially.

SPAK accuses Vangjush Dako and 9 other people, among them former officials of the Municipality of Durrës, of abusing their duties and falsifying documents, in allowing the construction of an 11-story building without any documentation, as well as in miscalculating the limit fund of a tender in 2014, whose value increased by 10 times, causing the Municipality a damage of 18 million ALL. There are also 3 other people looking for this file.
