By order of SPAK, the General Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Joana Duro, as well as the other employee of the Ministry of Health, Laureta Sheto, were arrested today under accusations of corruption.
But it seems that Prime Minister Edi Rama was aware of this arrest, before they were put in handcuffs. During his speech, at the thanksgiving tour activity in Tirana, Rama said today that a former general secretary was caught red-handed receiving lek. The head of the government addressed her with ex, letting it be understood that he also signed her dismissal.
"A former general secretary is caught red-handed taking Leka, how can this happen? Of course, the nice side of this medal is that a person who is unworthy to hold a state office is caught, I wish there were as many such and I cannot wish that as many people as possible do such things because it is something serious and the lack of sense of patriotism, of duty, of ethics to the point that in an important task to fall to this kind of level, is really terrible.
Here we have opened this pandora's box ourselves, we have opened it ourselves because we have not accepted to assume the responsibility of governing the country, keeping our foot on the lid of that box, continuing the avaza where the powerful of this country have never been called by Justice. If I could go back 100 times, I would do the same thing 100 times because that's why I do what I do.
We have chosen this other path, on this path there is no going back and there is no compromise with anyone. I have known that this is not a road that will end soon. This is the path of a generation to achieve that this country has equal justice for all. This is a road with difficult situations, people who have taken everything," said Rama.
