" Albania does not have more corruption than Europe ," said Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech at the Matchmarket Albania event, in response to critics of European countries, emphasizing that this is evidenced by economic developments and increased investments.

"When people talk about Albania, they fall prey to some stereotypes like corruption and organized crime. But this is not Albania. We do not have more corruption than any other country. I will not mention, let's say, the turnover or drug circulation in Europe, I will not make a comparison. For those who say we are the worst, I say, look at yourselves and let's do our best work," Rama said.

According to him, Albania has managed to attract around 1.6 billion euros in foreign investment per year in tourism alone, while the number of tourists has reached 12 million, transforming the country into an increasingly attractive destination.

"Today, as evidence of change, we have gone from a country with a few months of tourism, with a few million tourists, to a country with many more months of tourism, with 12 million tourists and 1.6 billion euros of foreign investment per year. I no longer see a country that is suffering from corruption and organized crime. This is a fact. I would like to hold a secret vote here. Have you had any experience with corruption? I aim to get 98 percent no. We will aim to reach 100 percent. But those who sing this refrain must stop," the prime minister stressed.

He emphasized that the government's objective is to increase exports to 1 billion euros and achieve full energy sovereignty by the end of the decade, through diversification and innovation in the energy sector.

"Our goal of bringing exports to 1 billion euros is within our reach. Third, the digital economy. We are the first country to have left space in the government for a virtual minister of Artificial Intelligence, digitalization for us represents a blessing for many developing countries. Energy is a sector related to diversification, innovation, we are diversifying the portfolio of energy sources. We are moving towards the ambitious goal of full sovereignty, to reach a future where nothing is unpredictable. By the end of the decade, Albania should be sovereign in energy. We do not have more corruption than any other country," Rama emphasized.

Rama focused on the main sectors of development, highlighting tourism and agriculture.

"We are preparing some major investments, we aim for tourism of another level of understanding. The second pillar, intelligent agriculture, which is emerging, seems like a challenging field. Many products, produced in Albania, are developing at great speed."
