Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated President Rexhep Erdogan on his victory in the May 28 runoff.

In a post on social networks, the head of the government wrote: "Congratulations on your victory, Mr. President." Rama, who is a close ally and friend of Erdogan, also congratulated the latter in Turkish.

Erdogan was elected for the third time as President of Turkey.

According to the results, which have not yet become official, Erdogan received more than 52% of the votes compared to his rival Kilicdaroglu. This result gives Erdogan a historic third term to govern Turkey.

According to the media in Turkey, he also thanked his supporters in a short speech in front of them, while emphasizing that with this victory, "the door to the 'Century of Turkey' has been opened."

"Thank you very much. I wish to express my gratitude to my nation for giving us a day of democracy. I would like to thank all my citizens who showed their will by going to the ballot box. I thank everyone who entrusted us with the responsibility of governance for the next 5 years. The winners of these elections are 85 million Turkish citizens. Today, Turkey has won ," Erdogan declared to his supporters.

Meanwhile, in Istanbul, thousands of Erdogan's supporters have organized and started the celebrations.
