Rama on the protests against the Zvërnec project: The world did not rise up

The leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, in his speech at the meeting of the SP parliamentary group, held this Thursday, focused on the issue of Zvërnec, its discussion by the international media and the protests held in Tirana.

He stated that "Zvërneci became the navel of the world, where the fate of global warming was being decided."

"I know I may disappoint many here with this stance, but the truth is that the cyclone of these days is not interesting for what it says about the governance of Albania today, it is interesting for the time we have entered, the world we live in and the challenges that the SP will face. If this story had happened 10 years ago, it would have been at best a debate within the borders, despite the involvement of the Americans, the Israelis or even the devil himself who was involved in this story without being a part of it at all.

Whereas today, within 48 hours, the violent degradation of a fight between private guards and a protester who was dragged away became the beginning of a global online war where no media trench remained without ammunition being fired.

Not because the world woke up one morning alarmed about flamingos, where until yesterday, under the noses of the world's insensitive people, the bloodiest massacre of birds was taking place, being killed for the animalistic lust of thousands of citizens who came from the West, in this stateless land.

If it were up to the world, Narta could quietly return 10 years ago, when flamingos no longer migrated to it because they were threatened by bullets.

"The world did not wake up from Narta's fate, but from the name of Jared Kushner, and of course from the shadow of his father-in-law, whom the entire global online army hates to death, thinking it found Trump's Waterloo on Tirana's boulevard," Rama said.
