Speaking about the pension system reform, Prime Minister Rama said that it should be guided by three guidelines.

Rama said that the government will continue with bonuses for pensioners and will intervene in the scheme without destroying the foundations of the pension reform system.

" The change has occurred because with the 2014 reform, we set contributions in the function of pension. The wound is slowly closing, but we continue to have a part that suffers from that wound. The guidelines we should have: 'Don't fix a scheme that doesn't work, but design something new. Don't try something new when a scheme works.' The second guideline is to choose between short-term and long-term pain, because there is no painless reform. If we have experienced long-term pain, this has come as a result of the fact that all those before us wanted to make a painless reform.

The third guideline is that reforming the pension scheme is a marathon, not a sprint. All the sprints have led us to the situation of 2014, where the IMF and the World Bank said increase the price of energy, reduce pensions and start paying, otherwise complete collapse was expected from all sides. Today, since February 1, we are the only country in this region that has reduced the price of energy.

"We will move in parallel with the bonuses that have increased significantly, they have increased in quantitative terms and in terms of the timing of their payment. From one year-end bonus, we have gone to 2 and we have linked these bonuses to economic growth. We want these bonuses to continue ," said Rama.
