The former minister Arben Malaj says that the increase in immigration and the decrease in the number of births is a serious wound for the Albanian society, which is clearly reflected in the start of this new school year, where there is a strong decrease in 9-year-old schools of children enrolling in first grade.

Arben Malaj refers to INSTAT figures, that from 2014 to 2024, the number of children in the 9-year cycle has decreased by 34.5%, or 125 thousand less.

However, the former minister emphasizes that no matter how much daily life is robotized due to the convergence with technology, the development of society is still conditioned by human capital. The solution, Malaj says, is the natural involvement of the diaspora in the country's challenges.

" Success to every student who starts the new school year, to the teaching staff and students' families as a very important factor! Good education and education will determine the future of our nation.

Such a large decrease in the number of students due to immigration and the decrease in births is a serious wound for the future. No matter how much our daily life is robotized, countries will be conditioned in their development by the productivity of human capital.

The solution to fill this demographic deficit will be the most natural involvement of the diaspora in our social, economic and political challenges and secondly the creation and respect of a multicultural and multiethnic society ", writes Arben Malaj, former minister.
