The American advisor to the DP, Chris LaCivita, together with the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, were invited to the Top Story show on Top Channel. LaCivita spoke about Berisha's non-wife, communications with the State Department and about the prime minister, where he said about the latter that he does not work with 'socialists, communists, like Edi Rama'.
When asked if he is used to this type of opponent (Rama), he responded by saying "I am used to dealing with unstable opponents and Edi Rama is one of them. The campaign is not about me, but about his last 12 years as prime minister."
Berisha may travel to the USA, did you have any information?
LaCivita: No, I didn't know. As for the letter, no, I didn't know. When it was published, I had a nice feeling.
Have you invited Berisha to travel to the USA?
LaCivita: No, because my focus has been on the campaign in Albania.
Is there vote buying in Albania?
LaCivita: First of all, I don't speak for the US. I think it's important to remind people that democracy is sacred and the right to vote is sacred. People in a democracy have the ability to change the government or accept it.
It is clear in my mind that there is no doubt that there were problems with the voting process in Albania, there were votes that were bought, people who stayed in Albania were incited, this happens everywhere, even in the US.
Does the DP have an open door?
LaCivita: I don't communicate with DASH, but they watch the news and certainly show attention to what's happening. I've been involved in US electoral politics for 35 years. And of course for President Trump. The Republican Party is close to the DP, I fit in naturally. I don't work for the communists, the socialists, like Edi Rama.
How is the relationship with lobbying in the US? How normal are they? What does this lobbying mean, is this contract necessary for Berisha?
LaCivita: First of all, I don't lobby, I'm a political strategist. I haven't seen the contract. My contract is with the DP, to prepare Dr. Berisha's message to fire Edi Rama.
Why should there be a lobbying contract to remove this injustice? Is it an unfair issue that needs to be removed, or is it a lobbying issue?
LaCivita: First, the fact that we are having this discussion, I know you don't want to discuss Rama, because he is a failure. In the US when the Biden administration got involved and Blinken gave him Non grata status, what happened? He banned Berisha from traveling to the US and meeting the diaspora. In America we call this election interference and this is corrupt. I don't get involved in the positions of the US government, but I am glad that this topic has been opened at the international level.
The person that Berisha has attacked a lot is Yuri Kim, she was an ambassador appointed by Trump, do you see the contradiction?
LaCivita: No. Because her role was different, she doesn't have the experience of the previous ambassador who has her own problems in the US. The organizer asked if there was a new sheriff, there was a new sheriff in the US.
