As it was announced days ago and the decision was ready for approval, the Council of Ministers has today approved the decision on the indexation of pensions by 4.1%

In an appearance for the media, the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhe, said that "the 4.1% indexation of pensions, over 791 thousand beneficiaries from October 1, is approved. The main purpose of indexation is to preserve purchasing power. The Government of Albania pays special attention to pensioners, to have a life as worthy as possible for them and for this we are working, to have a review of the scheme and the possibilities to achieve an increase in income for this category?

On the other hand, he added that the pension scheme is also being reviewed. "I can't say too many details, we are focusing on the equality between the incomes of the same professions but the pensions in different years. Our aim is to look at the levels and categories of any type of profession", he said.

This is not for all pensions, as it depends on the amount of pension they currently receive, so it may be a larger or smaller amount than the one approved today.
