The Prime Minister and at the same time the chairman of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, has published on social networks a summary from the speech of the previous day in New York, where he asked for the vote of the Diaspora.

Expressing the ambition for Albania to join the EU within 2030, Rama asked for the support of Albanians living abroad, who are expected to vote for the first time in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

" Albania has made extraordinary progress, but it is still a progress in danger, if we all do not push forward together in this last kilometer to make it a member of the European Union.

One of the reasons for your success, as I understand it, is that the Albanians here have helped the Albanians, that those who came before helped those who came after.

And that's why the diaspora today, the Albanians outside the homeland today must play for Albania the role they played for the Albanians here and must become guarantors with their participation in the elections that Albania does not go back. That's why I came here, to ask you to continue and fulfill together this mission started a decade ago, to climb Albania to the top of 2030, making Europe's path irreversible and doing it for the state ours, our flag, what every Albanian like you, in America or Europe, has done for himself, for his family, for the future of his children, becoming a proud, inseparable part of the community that lives today and works here in America or across the ocean, in Europe ", said Rama.
