Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the meeting with the Albanians in Thessaloniki, announced that a request has been prepared for the Greek government to review the decision to ban the entry of the Top Channel journalist, Marin Mema, into Greece.
Emphasizing that Marin Mema has done nothing but work as a journalist, he calls the decision of 12 years ago an extreme and anti-democratic measure.
"We have a request that we will submit tomorrow for the review of an absurd decision 12 years ago to stop the journalist Marin Mema from entering Greece. Marin Mema has not committed any crime, he has done nothing more or less than his work as a journalist, passionate about the trail of Albanians. If his attitude is different from whoever made the absurd decision to ban him from entering a country in the EU, it can never be a reason to deprive a journalist of European freedom of movement. This is an extreme, anti-democratic, anti-democratic measure", said the Prime Minister.
In 2012, the journalist Marin Mema was declared dangerous for national security in Greece and therefore prevented from entering Greek territory.
The decision and the ban of the journalist came after several topics carried out by him in the column "The Other Albania" dedicated to the Albanian national issue, topics related to the heritage of the Chams in Greece in the village of Margëlliç, in Gumenica and in Filat.
But also the show dedicated to Pope Christo Negovan and his descendants in the village of Negovan, inside the Greek territory.
