117 deputies of the Assembly of Albania voted in favor of removing the immunity of deputy Arben Ahmetaj. But what does this mean?

Ahmetaj no longer has the immunity he enjoys from this post, but continues to be a member of the Albanian Parliament.

Ahmetaj can remain a member of parliament until a final decision is made by the court, and as the journalist reports, so far there is no signal from him to resign.

With today's vote, the Assembly approved SPAK's request for authorization for the arrest and control of Ahmetaj's apartment.

Procedurally, the Assembly must first start the letter to the Special Prosecutor's Office for granting the authorization for the arrest of Arben Ahmetaj.

Then the prosecution takes the security measure in the Special Court. After that, the prosecution body sends a letter to the police, which must execute the court's decision.

Arben Ahmetaj is not in Albania. He reacted on social networks today, where he stated that he is not on the run and that he will come out when "the truth takes its course".
