The Special Appeal left unchanged the decision of the first instance for the former Deputy Minister of Health Klodian Rrjepaj.

Through his lawyer, Rrjepaj requested a revocation or a milder security measure than "arrest in prison", a request which was dismissed by judge Florjan Kalaja.

Klodian Rrjepaj was placed in handcuffs on August 17, 2023 by order of SPAK, on ​​account of the investigations initiated by this structure for "Sterilization".

The latter is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of 'Forgery of documents' and 'Abuse of duty'. Together with him, businessman Ilir Rrapaj was arrested, who is accused of "Fraud".

The prosecuting body requested "house arrest" for Marsela Sejrana and Saimir Kadiu, while a more lenient measure was assigned to Arben Gjata, Naile Ajazi, Genc Byrazeri and Petri Mersini.

A few months later, the special prosecutor's office set an "obligation to appear" for former health minister Ilir Beqaj, who is in prison for the "SASPAC" file.
