The fate of the DP seal, the decision of the Court of Appeal is given

The Court of Administrative Appeals has accepted the request of the representative of Enkelejd Alibeaj's group, bringing back for a retrial to the court of first instance the issue of DP statues, to whom the party belongs, Sali Berisha or Enkelejd Alibeaj.

The appeal has overturned the decision of judge Agron Zhukri, who had accepted the changes to the Statute of the Democratic Party, made in the Assembly on December 11, 2021. The case will be retried at first instance with another panel of judges.

In this way, in the local elections of May 14, the Democratic Party will be represented by Enkelejd Alibeaj's group, while Berisha's candidates are expected to enter the elections as a coalition with the Freedom Party.

Lawyer Indrit Sefa declared after the decision that within these days the Democratic Party of Alibeaj will be registered with the Central Election Commission. Asked if the decision of the Court of First Instance could be the same as that of Zhukri, he said that there is no possibility of it being the same.

"Today the court decided to return the case to the first instance, our request. In practice, Alibeaj's appeal was accepted, which means that the case will be returned to the court of first instance and there will be another panel of judges. We will register with the central election commission within these days."

Question: What happens if the same decision as Zhukri is taken by the Court of Tirana?

"The Tirana court has no chance of making the same decision as Zhukri. PD has its own legitimate bodies." - said Sefa.
