The majority of the democratic parliamentary group gathered today after the call from Gazment Bardhi.

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and 13 of his deputies joined the meeting as well as four of the five allies that DP had on its list in the April 25 elections.

After closed-door discussions, MPs and allies agreed to hold a weekly meeting.

"We have set a part of the parliamentary agenda for the new session. The priority of the work of the opposition MPs will be free and fair elections. Moving forward with the electoral reform that has been blocked for two years. It has been set as a priority for the work of all opposition MPs, of course those who consider themselves oppositionists. Reconceptualization of the electoral reform commission, with clear deadlines and tasks. It is unacceptable not to advance this priority. Free and fair elections are in Albania's interest. The reform commission has not had any products so far.

Secondly, I believe we all agree that this opposition is facing the most corrupt government, every day we face scandals of this government.

For this reason, we have decided to set up 3 investigative commissions, first for PPP and health issues. We are all witnesses together that the prosecution has not yet finalized the investigations on these cases. The investigation commission will aim to help the prosecution. We will request an investigative commission on the issue of personal data of citizens, patronageists or serious suspicions of interference in the YIMS system. Thirdly, we are familiar with and are familiar with data every day about how public officials decide to enrich their relatives with public funds, so an investigative commission will be requested for the conflict of interest and abuses of the law", said Bardhi.
