Socialist leader Edi Rama closed the electoral campaign this afternoon in the Vlora district, from where he made several promises for its development, thus linking it to the possibility of Albania's membership in the European Union.
The head of government stated that Vlora has become a jewel of the Mediterranean, while other investments are expected in the coming years.
"A friend had seen Kuçi's memorandum. And he told me how it was possible that you won the 9th mandate of Vlora with 50%. He told me that there is no way that Vlora will not win the 9th mandate for you. I told him that you don't know the people of Vlora. Vlora can win 10 mandates, but the problem is how to get Vlora out of the house.
Every Vlora citizen should leave their homes on May 11 because it bothers me that with all these transformations, the fame that has spread throughout Albania and the jealousy that has been created for Vlora. It is not good that the SP rises above 80 mandates and Vlora remains at 8. In these years, more has been done for Vlora than has ever been done. We will continue to do things that today may seem impossible , "said Rama
Rama promised that investments in tourism for this coast will continue, and that according to him, by the end of this decade, that is, in 2030, big names and companies will have come to this country, due to the industry.
"I know that the people of Vlora know everything better and I don't insist on telling them that I know better, but I want to assure everyone that in the next 4 years we will continue to do things for Vlora that seem impossible today. If we were here in 2030, Vlora would be a place that all of Europe would keep in their mouths and eyes as a first-class tourist destination. These are not campaign words, but words that are related to what we have planted for Vlora.
"Remember these words that in Vlora, by the end of this decade, the biggest names, the biggest firms, all those beautiful things that gather around a place when that place becomes the jewel of the crown of tourism will have arrived. Vlora will be one of the names that will shine in that crown ," said Rama.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also promised that Vlora will be a place with a series of prestigious hotels. This will increase the attraction of visitors from all over the world, and according to Rama, Vlora will be the most sought-after destination in the Mediterranean.
"Hotels have started to open their doors, in these 5 years it will become a territory where the most prestigious hotel companies will come. This district will have a necklace full of names and doors where tourists from all over the world will find a place, and with difficulty they will find a place in fact, because I assure you that the coast will become the most sought-after destination in the Mediterranean. Tourism is a great, new power for Vlora", added the Prime Minister.
